We would like to make you aware that effective for the 2022-23 school year, your student(s) will no longer automatically receive free breakfasts and lunches.  To receive free or reduced breakfast or lunch, families must qualify by completing the application for Free or Reduced meals.

The Winston R-VI School District is accepting bids on the haying of approximately 6 acres m/l west of the school. Bids will be accepted until 2:00 pm, Monday May 16, 2022. Bids will be presented at 7:00 pm, Monday May 16, 2022 at the regular board meeting.

The Winston School District would like to find a new home for the kitchen gas oven that was replaced recently.  It is approximately 60” wide and 30” deep and feels like it weighs as much as a Volkswagen Beetle.   If you are interested and have a team to move it, contact the school.

Winston R-IV School District will offer a 2022 Summer School for students entering Kindergarten through 12th grade. Please click on the Registration Link to  register for Winston Summer School 2022 so staffing and  planning can be completed. Registration Link

Dates:

Week 1 – Monday June 6 to Thursday June 9

Week 2 – Monday June 13 to Thursday June 16

Week 3 – Monday June 20 to Thursday June 23

Week 4 – Monday June 27 to Thursday June 30

Time: 7:30am to 3:20 pm, Buildings will be open at 7:20 am.

  • Kindergarten – 6th grade will focus on education through enrichment activities.
  •  7th- 12th grade will offer both enrichment activities and remediation depending on the needs of the student.
  • Bus transportation will be available. Field trips are being planned
  • Meals: Breakfast (grab and go in the classroom) and Lunch will be provided for all students free of charge.
  • Students that have 100% perfect attendance for the entire summer school will be rewarded a $50 gift card. Students that miss two days or less will be rewarded a $25 gift card. Note: Summer school attendance is counted by the minute, so every minute counts.
  • Any student can attend the 2022 Winston School summer school, even if they did not attend the Winston school during the regular school year.

StuCo Volleyball tournament will be May 10th, from 6-8 PM in the gym. This will be our last Student Council activity. Free admission.

FBLA Banquet is next Wednesday, May 11th at 5:00.

Senior Trip #2 will be Monday, May 16th.

HS Track has the district meet tomorrow at Princeton.  Sectional Track will be Saturday, May 14th.

Finals will be on Tuesday, May 17th and Wednesday, May 18th.

The Winston School District is taking bids on concrete work. Bid specs are attached.

The Winston FFA Chapter has had a busy, but successful spring in Career & Leadership Development Events. 17 members of the chapter qualified to compete, perform, and be recognized at the Missouri FFA State Convention.

  • Entomology Team: Elijah Uthe, Paige Lang, Megan Christensen, Marissa Uthe
  • Floriculture Team: Zoe Taylor, Destany West, Hailey West, Asher Vaughn
  • Poultry Team: Spencer Pliley, Jordyn Inman, Amy Caldwell, Tanleigh Sheetz
  • Jacob Uthe was recognized for obtaining his State Degree, served as a voting delegate, and volunteered with the Courtesy Corp.
  • Jordyn Inman, Tanleigh Sheetz, and Shealyn Pliley performed a dance, and Kennedy Warner sang the National Anthem for State Talent. A video of each performance was posted on the Winston, MO FFA Facebook page.
  • Megan Christensen, Elijah Uthe, and Levi Youtsey volunteered in the Media Room.

Congratulations to Jacob Uthe and Brian Lewis for being selected to the News Press All Area Basketball Team.

NHS collected 91 food items to donate to the Daviess County Meals on Wheels program.  We would like to thank everyone for their support.

FFA District Contest Results:

Food Science – 4th Place

Poultry – 7th Place, Advancing to State

Students – as the year begins to wind down, please be diligent in finding any missing Chromebook chargers, calculators, etc. and get them back to school. Recently several students have indicated that they don’t know where their chargers are. There is a $15 fee if the charger doesn’t come back with the Chromebook. If you find an extra – please bring it back as well!

Congratulations to the Academic Team that ended the season 5-2 and 2nd in the Conference with the following team members: Eli Uthe, CJ Mullikin, Cory Parker, Zoe Taylor, Sage Eiken and Noel Nelson.  All Conference Team: First Team: Cory Parker and CJ Mullikin and Second Team: Eli Uthe.  District meet is April 9th at the Jefferson School District.

VoTech students do attend the North Central Career Center on Mondays. The bus leaves the parking lot at 7:15am.

School hours for students: 7:50am – 3:35pm.  Students should be in their rooms ready to work prior to the tardy bell.  Detentions will be given for repeatedly late students.

School Coverage:  Tri-County Weekly Newspaper out of Jamesport will be publishing pictures and articles concerning the Winston R-VI School District.
