1st Quarter Progress Reports will go home today.

Today Activities are:  HS Football is at home vs. South Harrison today at 7:00.  HS Softball plays tomorrow at East Harrison.

Monday Activities are:  HS Softball at Dekalb at 5:00.  JH Softball at Lathrop at 4:30.  JH/JV Football at home vs. South Harrison at 5:00

Senior Recognition will be Tuesday September 20th after the softball game for softball and cross country.  Concession stand will have a BBQ that night.  Flyer attached.

Jostens will be back on Tuesday September 20th to pick up orders.

Registration deadline for the October 22 ACT test date is today.

FFA Mums will be ready to be picked up Monday afternoon!

The Winston School Board will meet on Monday September 19th at 8pm in the Library.  Agenda is attached.

The East Harrison Softball Tournament will conclude this Saturday September 17th at 11:40am.  The Winston Lady Redbirds will be playing for the Championship vs Mercer.

Junior High Basketball practice starts on Tuesday September 20.  6th-8th grade students are eligible to play this year.  Students must have a physical done this year in order to practice.

Girls 3:45-5:15pm with a Parent Meeting at 6pm

Boys 6:15-7:30am – please note practice is in the morning

Registration deadline for the October 22 ACT test date is this Friday, September 16th.

Sports Physicals must be updated yearly.  You must have a current physical on file to start sports practice

Lunch and Breakfast prices for the 2022-2023 school year.

  • Student Breakfast $1.20
  • Reduced Breakfast $.30
  • Elementary Lunch $2.25
  • High School Lunch $2.50
  • Reduced Lunch $.40
  • Extra Milk $.30

***We would also like to make you aware that effective for the 22-23 school year the Federal Government has discontinued the program for all students to automatically receive free breakfasts and lunches.  To receive free or reduced breakfast or lunch, families must qualify by completing the application for Free or Reduced meals.

Doors are open every school day at 7:30am for students.  Dismissal is at 3:35pm.  Car riders can be picked up in the car line at the front door.  Please wait in line in your car until students are released to you.  Please do not walk to the front door to get your student.  Walkers are released after all cars have vacated the car line.

School hours for students: 7:50am – 3:35pm.  Students should be in their rooms ready to work prior to the tardy bell.  Detentions will be given for repeatedly late students.

Several Improvements have been taking place at the school this summer.  Below is a partial listing.

  • Trailer and accumulated junk from behind the school has been removed
  • Ag, Flex and Health room renovations have been completed
  • Old gym windows opening (behind record boards) have been removed and made weather tight.
  • Concrete parking/drive is currently being installed
  • Gym Floor has been refinished
  • New interactive boards have been installed in seven more classrooms.
  • The lower portion of the gym has been repainted.
  • Multiple classrooms have been repainted
  • Floors are being cleaned, stripped, waxed and painted where it is prescribed.

Parents, please remember to contact the office prior to a student’s absence or before 8:30am the day of.  Parents can call the school at 660.339.6462 for student absences- if it is outside of school hours- no problem! you can leave a voice message. We appreciate your assistance.

VoTech students do attend the North Central Career Center on Mondays. The bus leaves the parking lot at 7:15am.

School Coverage:  Tri-County Weekly Newspaper out of Jamesport will be publishing pictures and articles concerning the Winston R-VI School District.
