Worth County Awarded USDA Grant & Loan for Purchase of Grader and Excavator

GRANT CITY, MO – Worth County officials unveiled their new road grader and excavator during an event held in conjunction with USDA on Monday. The USDA Community Facilities Direct Loan and Grant provided Worth County with a grant for $83,400 and a loan for $477,000 for the purchase of the machinery.

Rural areas with no more than 20,000 residents are eligible for the USDA loan and grant program. Funds can be used to purchase, construct, or improve essential community facilities, purchase equipment and pay related project expenses. USDA State Director of Rural Development Kyle Wilkens and Area Specialist Amber Barnes joined county officials for Monday’s event.
