Worth County Board Approves School Levy

Worth County School Board members held a tax rate hearing and received a presentation about the efforts being made to prepare teachers for remote instruction and preparing the 3rd through 11th grades to move to a 1:1 computer situation. Worth County School Board members held their regular meeting on Thursday night.

The district is working with area providers to establish hot spots in each community in the district that would allow students to have an internet access point if one is not available .

Worth County’s Board approved a tax rate of $3.77 per $100 of assessed valuation. That levy will include $3.52 in the operating fund and $.25 in the debt service fund. The board also agreed to the prepayment of $30,000 toward the redemption of bonds.

Worth County’s board also approved the local compliance special education plan, the district’s substitute list, and substitute non-certified staff and volunteers.
