Worth County To Provide Pre-K Services Beginning In January

Worth County School Board members agreed to provide pre-kindergarten services for the district beginning in January. The action came at a meeting Wednesday.

The action also came after the board accepted two grants. One is the Missouri Quality Pre-K grant. The other is the Patterson Family Foundation grant. The grants amount to $250,000 toward a Pre-K classroom and expenses. Information and stakeholder meetings will be available soon. Enrollment information and teaching position openings will be posted soon.

Worth County’s Long Range Planning Committee will meet on October 4th to continue to re-evaluate facility needs and goals.

Worth County’s 7th-through-12th grade enrollment is down 11 students due to a smaller 7th grade class and a large 2023 class which graduated.

The board also approved a contract with the Area Cooperative of Education Service to provide educational support.
