GU’s Michael Millslagle Finishes Runner Up At NAIA Nationals

Graceland sophomore Michael Millslagle finished as a runner-up in the Men’s High Jump event at the NAIA National Track and Field Championships held Thursday evening in Gulf Shores, Alabama. Millslagle earned All-America status with a height of 7’0.25″. That was actually the top height that was cleared by any competitor in the event. Millslagle cleared his first 4 heights on the first attempt. He cleared 7’0.25″ on his second attempt. The winner of the event, Issac Brown of Grace University, was clean on his attempts until his 3 misses at 2.17 meters or 7’1.5″.

The result gives Millslagle All-American status in both the indoor and the outdoor seasons. He placed 5th in the indoor meet earlier this year.

Graceland’s Xavier Hurrell ran 10.98 in the 100M dash in the first round of competition. That did not qualify for the next round.

10K runner Dillion Grover finished 18th of the 28 competitors who completed the Men’s 10,000 meters. He finished with a time of 32:05.73. Robert Swoboda of Corban won the event in 30:19.80.

Logan Harder of Graceland has qualified for the half marathon field that will compete Friday at the NAIA Championships. Graceland’s Ashlynn Perkins and Sidney Gilliland will both compete in the Women’s High Jump Friday.
