Bearcats Earn 16th Straight Playoff Berth
The Northwest Missouri State Bearcats will make their 16th straight trip into the division II football playoffs after being awarded the number three seed in the Super Region 3 bracket Sunday afternoon.
With their win over previously number two seed Central Missouri Saturday the Bearcats jumped three spots in the final rankings to earn a home game in the opening round of the playoffs.
Unbeaten Ferris State took home the top seed of the bracket and a first round bye. Ouachita Baptist took the number two seed and will host former MIAA member, Lindenwood in the first round of action Saturday.
With the three seed Northwest will host Harding to open the playoffs. The four seed went to fellow MIAA member Central Missouri who will host Indianapolis in the first round.
Slippery Rock, Valdosta State and Minnesota State took home the top seeds in the other regional brackets.
