Burlington Junction Native And Former NFL Coach Vince Tobin Dies

Burlington Junction native and former Maryville High School football standout Vince Tobin died Monday.

Tobin played football at Maryville High School and then defensive back at the University of Missouri. He was a two-year starter. He later served as Defensive Coordinator at the University of Missouri in the early and mid 70s. He also coached in the NFL for 18 seasons. He was a Defensive Coordinator for the Chicago Bears and the Indianapolis Colts. He served as Head Coach for the Arizona Cardinals from 1996 to 2000 and won a playoff game. He also served as Defensive Coordinator with the Detroit Lions and served as a Special Assistant with the Green Bay Packers.

He is also a member of the Missouri Sports Hall of Fame. He was inducted in 2008.
