St. Joseph and Missouri Western State University will once again be the home of the NCAA Division 2 Women’s Basketball Championships and Elite 8 in 2023 and 2024, the NCAA announced Wednesday.

It will be the fifth and sixth time the Women’s D2 Basketball Elite 8 have been played at Civic Arena in St. Joseph. Civic Arena previously hosted the championship in 2003, 2004, 2010 & 2011.

The 2023 event will take place March 21 and 22 with only the quarterfinals and semifinals being played in St. Joseph and the National Championship Game being held at the Division I site in Dallas, Texas. In 2024, all seven games will be contested in St. Joseph over the date of March 26, 27 and 29.

More information regarding the championship will be released as the event nears closer.
