Mount Ayr Begins State Softball Tournament Run Tuesday

Mount Ayr’s girls softball team returns for another Iowa State Softball Tournament appearance this year and open their tournament on Tuesday night when they face Ogden. Co Head Coach Bret Ruggles says this year decisions about the positions and the lineup had to be made in pretty short order with a regular season that only consisted of 11 games.

 

The Raiderettes trailed most of their game with Earlham in the regional final, but had the right lineup at the right time in their final at bat.

 

Mount Ayr will be a 6th seed in the tournament and are matched up against an Ogden team that was also in the tournament last year. Mount Ayr and Ogden did not face one another.

 

Mount Ayr will have a 5pm start Tuesday night when they face Ogden.
