MSHSAA District Softball, Volleyball Results
Platte Valley used a 10-run 4th inning to take control of the Class 1 District 8 Championship game and beat Worth County 12-2 to advance to the Class 1 Quarterfinal game on Saturday afternoon in Gallatin. Worth County used 3 singles and an outfield error to score the first two runs of the game in the bottom of the 1st inning. Platte Valley countered with 1 in the second and left the bases loaded in the 3rd, but then sent 15 to the plate in the decisive 4th inning. They turned a 2-1 deficit into an 11-2 margin, added a single run in the 5th inning, and then recorded the final 3 outs in the bottom of the inning to win the game in 5 innings. Delaney Wolf allowed just two hits after the first inning and pitched the complete game for Platte Valley.
Platte Valley will advance to Gallatin in the quarterfinals on Saturday. Gallatin scored 3 runs in the 2nd inning and played from ahead from that point and defeated Polo 6-3 at Class 1 District 7 at Maysville. Gallatin scored another run in the 4th. They had 11 hits overall. Polo managed 3 runs on 3 hits.
