Northwest PG Trevor Hudgins Signed By Houston Rockets

Following the NBA Draft Thursday night the Houston Rockets signed former Northwest Missouri State point guard Trevor Hudgins to a two-way contract.

Hudgins becomes the first Bearcat to sign an NBA contract.

A two-way contract is a contract that stipulates that an athlete’s salary is dependent upon the league in which they are assigned to play. This type of contract allows the team to assign a player they like to the G-League without eating up a roster spot. Generally players on two-way contracts are paid a flat rate equal to half of the league’s minimum salary.

While at Northwest Missouri State Hudgins racked up a list of accomplishments that is second to none. He was twice named the D2 player of the year, was twice named most outstanding player in the NCAA Tournament (while never losing a game in the tournament at 17-0), and is the all-time leading scorer in MIAA history at 2,829 points.
