NWMSU Earns 3 Seed in NCAA D2 Football Super Region 3

For the 17th straight season Northwest Missouri State’s football team will march into the NCAA Division II football playoffs, this year as a 3 seed in Super Region 3.

As the 3 seed the Bearcats will play host to a first round playoff game on Saturday, November 20. Their opponent will be the Central Washington Wildcats, who technically made the field in Super Region 4 but NCAA D2 rules allow the selection committee to move lower seed in to a better travel situation.

Kickoff is scheduled for 1 P.M. Saturday at Bearcat Stadium.

The winner of the Northwest – Central Washington game will advance on to play Thanksgiving weekend against the winner of Washburn at Harding

The region’s top seed is unbeaten Ferris State. The Bulldogs receive a bye into the semifinals where they await the winner of Lindenwood at four seed Grand Valley State.

Northwest ranks tops all-time in Division II playoff appearances with 25 and in all-time playoff wins with 50. Their 17 straight appearances is the longest streak in D2 history as well.
