The Northwest Missouri State men’s basketball team are the MIAA 2022 Champion after a 84-76 win against Washburn on Sunday afternoon in Kansas City.

John Coffey has the story.

 

Sunday evening the Bearcats learned they will be the number three seed in the Central Region tournament. It is the ninth straight tournament appearance for the Bearcats and 22nd overall.

Augustana took the region’s top seed and will host the Central Region bracket Saturday, March 12 through Tuesday, March 15.

The Central Region will begin with #3 seed Northwest facing Minnesota State Moorhead at noon on Saturday. That will be followed by #2 seed Minnesota Duluth taking on seven seed Washburn at 2:30. The Saturday evening session begins with top seed Augustana facing #8 seed Southwestern Oklahoma. The day one night cap is #4 seed Upper Iowa taking on #5 seed Central Oklahoma at 7:30.

The semifinals will be at 5 and 7:30 P.M. Sunday and the regional championship Tuesday the 15th at 7 P.M.
