NWMSU’s Hawkins Named MIAA Player of the Week

For the second time this season Northwest Missouri State’s Ryan Hawkins has been named the MIAA men’s basketball athlete of the week.

Hawkins averaged 26.5 points, 11.0 rebounds and shot 62.1% from the field, including 64.7% from three-point range in two Bearcat victories last week.

Hawkins poured in a season-high 30 points Thursday against Newman for his eighth career 30-point game as he drained 11-of-18 field goals and 5-of-9 from deep vs. the Jets. Against UCO, he secured his 22nd career double-double with a 23-point, 17-rebound effort. Hawkins made 7-of-11 field goals including 6-of-8 from three-point range while handing out three assists.
