South Harrison Board Approves ACT Testing for Juniors

South Harrison school board members approved a surplus auction item list for items that will be auctioned by the district next month during their meeting on Monday night. South Harrison’s surplus auction will be held on October 22nd at 5:30pm at the school’s bus barn. The finalized list of items will be approved in October.

South Harrison’s board also agreed to pay for one-time testing for any junior that wishes to take the ACT test. The school provided that option last year also.

South Harrison’s superintendent Dennis Eastin also reviewed 3 of the 6 pillars that are part of the MSIP 6. The MSIP 6 is the Missouri School Improvement Review that is currently going through the approval process of the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education. There are 6 pillars that have been determined as points of emphasis for MSIP 6. Ultimately, the school district will be evaluated on the program. The 3 pillars reviewed on Monday night included Data and Decision-Making, Alignment of Standards, and Equity and Access of Opportunities for students attending districts in Missouri. The next step for MSIP 6 will be its consideration by the Missouri State Board of Education. The implementation of MSIP 6 is scheduled for two years.

South Harrison’s board was also introduced to the 14 new employees of the South Harrison School District with positions in the Career Center, Elementary School, Middle School, and the High School.
