Stanberry Board Approves Baseball Program For 2024-25 School Year

Stanberry School Board members approved the addition of a baseball program for the Stanberry School District during their meeting held Monday night.

The action came after the board reviewed a report prepared by Activities Director Jason Dias and Superintendent Dr. John Davison. That report covered the projected numbers for the baseball program if it was offered by the district, Title IX compliance, coaches, facilities, and the costs associated with the addition of baseball. There is no formal agreement between the school and the Stanberry Ball Association, but the association has expressed interest in providing assistance to the school district for the facility, start up fees, and ongoing fees. The vote by the board was 7-0 in favor of the motion to begin Stanberry’s baseball program with the 2024-25 school year.

Stanberry’s board received an update on their building and grounds projects. The Memorial Field bathrooms have been completed and grass will be planted to prepare for the growing season.

The district has applied for a second round of the School Safety Grant. The funding will allow the east doors to be replaced, the installation of more cameras throughout the building, and the addition of curbing to the east and south side of the playground. The district will be notified if they were selected for funding on September 28th.
