Tri-County Girls, Winston Boys Win HDC Track Titles, East Harrison Wins Junior High Competitions
The Tri-County girls and Winston Boys captured the HDC Conference team track titles on Wednesday. The meet withstood an hour and a half rain delay in Bethany.
The Tri-County girls dominated the distance races and won 3 relays. Carly Turner and won 3 individual golds. Tri County had 4 individual golds in addition to the 3 relay golds. Gilman City finished 2nd. Ava Langiftt and Laina Ward each won 2 individual gold medals, and Gilman City won the 4 x 400 relay.
Winston’s boys won 4 individual golds and won two relays to easily win the boys team title.
East Harrison’s Mark Willis set an unofficial record in the High Jump at 1.9 meters. East Harrison’s Bree Vaughn also set an unofficial record in the Junior High Discus event with a result of 29.41 meters.
