Twelve Courts Of Christmas Scholarships Awarded

Two recent high school graduates from area high schools have been selected as recipients of the first
annual Twelve Courts of Christmas Scholarships for 2022-23. Channing Totta of Kirksville High School
and Matt Jermain of Jefferson C-123 High School both earned $500.00 scholarships to the
college/university of their choice.
Steve Maxey, Director of Twelve Courts of Christmas says that nearly 70 high school graduates
applied for the first-time scholarships administered by the Community Foundation of Northwest
Missouri.
Miss Totta plans to attend Missouri State University in Springfield and major in Nursing while Mr.
Jermain will be attending Northwest Missouri State University in Maryville pursuing a degree in
Mathematics Education.
Both graduates were ranked in the top ten percent of their respective classes and were active in
school, church, and community organizations as well as high school athletics.
To qualify for the scholarships, applicants were required to excel in the classroom, in the community
and in athletics and have participated in the 2022 Twelve Courts of Christmas held in Kansas City last
December. Applicants are eligible from any high school that participates in the Twelve Courts of
Christmas and may choose to use the scholarship at any college, university, or technical school upon
graduation.
Miss Totta is a resident of Kirksville, Missouri while Mr. Jermain resides in Conception Junction,
Missouri.
Scholarships will once again be offered to upcoming high school seniors upon participation in the
2023 Twelve Courts of Christmas.
