A Maysville mailman was hurt Thursday in an accident while he was delivering mail.
According to Troop H of the Missouri State Highway Patrol, 50-year-old Maysville resident James D. James was southbound on Route C in DeKalb County when he stopped at a residence to deliver mail at 12:35 Thursday afternoon.
While stopped a 1991 Chevy 1500 being driven southbound by 17-year-old Cameron resident Marshall C. Kennedy failed to yield and struck the rear of the 1995 Jeep Cherokee being driven by James.
The collision forced the James vehicle off the west side of Route C and into a field. James was wearing a seat belt but still suffered moderate injuries. He was taken by Cameron EMS to Cameron Regional Medical Center for treatment.
Kennedy was uninjured in the accident.
