Cameron, MO- Benjamin Wiley “Fed” Curtis, 101 of Cameron, passed away January 1, 2024. He was
born December 11, 1922, to Benjamin Jackson and Ada (Belk) Curtis in Cameron.
Fed was a veteran of the United States Army Air Corp. He was awarded the “Distinguished Flying Cross
in the China-Burma-India theater of war.” He flew as crew chief on airplanes carrying supplies. He
married Betty Lou O’Connor February 1, 1951 at St. Munchin Catholic Church in Cameron. Together
they farmed the O’Connor-Curtis Century Farm. Fed was a member of Elmer Ellis Post 33.
He was preceded in death by his parents,brother, Kenneth “Doodle” Curtis and 4 sisters.
Fed is survived by his wife Betty of the home; 2 sons, Gary (Teresa) Curtis, Maysville, MO, Tim
(Meredith) Curtis, Lake Hava AZ; daughter Carol Curtis, Kansas City, MO; 5 grandchildren; 7 great
grandchildren; 2 step grandsons; 4 step great grandchildren.
Graveside services will be 11:00 AM, Thursday, January 4, 2024 at St. Munchin Cemetery, Cameron,
MO.
