Candy Lee Fugett

Candy Lee Fugett, 64, passed away suddenly early morning on Sept. 27, 2021. 

Candy was born April 24, 1957, in St. Joseph, MO to Leonard & Dorothy Lee Fugett.  She attended grade school (K-5) in Cameron, MO.  Her parents divorced in 1968.  Candy, her mother, Dorothy, and her sisters, Tana and Jan, moved into their maternal grandparents’, Lee and Reba Pulliams’, home in Lathrop, MO. Candy graduated from Lathrop High School as salutatorian of her class in 1975.  She then moved to St. Joseph, Mo and started her career with the municipal courts.  She has had a variety of jobs throughout her lifetime.  For the past 10 years, she was employed with Boehringer Ingelheim. 

Candy lived a quiet life in St. Joseph for 46 years.  She loved her dogs Dottie and Rosie (both deceased) and her current dog, Jenni.  She and sister, Jan, were very close and did lots of activities together.  Candy was a seven-year ovarian and breast cancer survivor. 

 Candy is preceded in death by her parents, Leonard and Dorothy Fugett and her maternal grandparents, Lee and Reba Pulliam.  She is survived by her sisters Tana (John) Lingvall, Meridian, ID and Jan (Russell) Blake, St. Joseph, MO.  She is also survived by her mother’s sister, Marguerite Pulliam, living in a care center in Grass Valley, CA. 

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the St. Joseph Animal Shelter in care of the funeral home. Graveside services will be held at 10 AM, Saturday, October 2nd, 2021 at Lathrop Cemetery in Lathrop, MO. Arrangements entrusted to the care and direction of Stith Funeral Home in Lathrop.
