Charles “Sonny” McBee – age 62 of Cowgill, Mo passed into eternity Saturday morning, February 19,2022, at North Kansas City Hospital in North Kansas City, MO. Sonny was born on April 9, 1959, the son of Lavere “Buck” Franklin and Dixie Anne (Holtzclaw) McBee in Braymer, MO. He grew up in Braymer and was a 1977 graduate of Braymer High School. He married Wanda (Bolling) on May 30th,1980, in Braymer, MO. As a child he accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior. In 1979 he joined the Army National Guard, where he faithfully served his country for 6 years. He worked for Clarkson Construction and over 20 years at Shirkey Nursing and Rehab as the maintenance supervisor. Finishing his working career at Golden Age Nursing Home in Braymer, Mo. He enjoyed fishing and being ornery. Sonny was giving, hardworking, and honest. He was always willing to help people in need. Sonny could fix and do anything. He loved carpentry work and being a handyman; able to fix, repair, and fabricate parts as needed. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends.

Sonny was preceded in death by his stepmother, Mary McBee. He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Wanda “Windy” McBee of Cowgill: children Shane McBee (Sami) of Cowgill, MO, Samantha Holt (Nick) of Polo, MO, Samuel McBee of Atlanta, GA, Amber McBee (Brad Motley) of Lexington, MO, Michael McBee of Lathrop, MO, and Amy Clark (Jeff) of Belton, MO. He was a beloved Papa to grandchildren; Kayla, Daylene, Anna, Shaylie, Sally, Beau, Clayton, Saige, Alexi, John, Sadie, and Skye. His parents, Lavere McBee of Braymer, MO and Dixie (Wayne) Klinginsmith of Chillicothe, MO; and siblings, Teresa Akers of Trenton, MO, Lavere McBee of Braymer, MO, Lisa Pierce (Ronnie) of Braymer, MO; several nieces and nephews and other extended family members also survive.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to “The Kids Need To Fish” in care of the funeral home. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Tuesday, February 22, 2022, at Gospel Christian Center in Cowgill. The family will receive friends one-hour prior to the service at the Church.
