Dortha Mae Olsen

Dortha Mae Olsen, 101, Kansas City, MO passed away Friday, September 17, 2021. She died having spent her life in service to others.

Mrs. Olsen was born on May 30, 1920 and grew up in rural Coffey, Missouri. She was the daughter of Tony and Edna (Bolar) Thompson. She attended Central Business College and worked for Borel Watch Company until retirement.  A lifetime member of the United Methodist Church and UMW. She held positions of leadership in numerous service organizations.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and a son, Robert P Olsen.

Dortha Mae is survived by her daughter, Deborah (David) Skwarlo; granddaughter, Dana (Donovan) Updike; grandson, Donald (Toni) Skwarlo and great granddaughter, Deanna Updike.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, October 2 at the St. John’s United Methodist Church, 6900 Ward Parkway, Kansas City, MO 64413 under the direction of Roberson Funeral Home, Bethany, MO. Burial will be held in Coffey Cemetery, Coffey, MO. The family will receive friends from 10:00-11:00 a.m. Saturday at the church.
