Ella Mae Heintz

On May 24, 2023  Ella Mae  stepped in to the  presence her Loving Lord and Savior, after a brief illness.

Ellie was born June 23, 1931, in King City MO, to the late Leonard and Bonnie Bell.

Ellie graduated from King City High School in 1949. On December 10, 1949, Ellie was married to her loving husband Ted Heintz. Ted and Ellie farmed in the Gentry County area and later moved to Oregon, MO where Ted was deputy sheriff, and operated several businesses. Ted and Ellie relocated to St. Joseph in 1960, where Ellie worked in the school system. Ellie worked at Mosaic Hospital where she retired in 2009 after forty years in the Physical Therapy department. After retiring from Mosaic Hospital, Ellie spent ten years, working as a comfort companion to many patients at Living Community.

Ellie is preceded in death by her husband Ted Heintz, and son Paul Heintz, her parents Leonard and Bonnie Bell, and her sister Alice Sharp.

Ellie is survived by her son John Heintz (Carol) of Largo, FL, Dan Heintz (Maria) of Roswell, NM, sisters Connie Childers and Carol Barton, of Kansas City, MO. She is also survived by 7 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, and many friends of whose lives Ellie touched.

Funeral service 11:00 AM Wednesday May 31, 2023 at the Heaton-Bowman-Smith & Sidenfaden Chapel., 3609 Fredrick Blvd. St. Joseph, MO 64506.  The family will receive friends  one hour prior to the service. Internment will follow at the King City, MO Cemetery.

Family requests that in lieu of flowers that memorial donations be made to KU Medical Center Palliative Medicine at the following address.
