Eulalia Schieber, 92, of Maryville, Missouri passed away on Saturday, January 13, 2024 at Oak Pointe of Maryville.

Eulalia was born on December 1, 1931 in Guilford, Missouri to Patrick J. and Irene A. (McLaughlin) Merrigan and was a graduate of Conception High School.

She married Leo A. Schieber on August 9, 1952. Eulalia was a homemaker and raised eight children while assisting Leo on the family farm near Conception, Mo. She was a member of St. Gregory Barbarigo Catholic Church.

Leo preceded her in death on July 29, 2004. She was also preceded in death by her parents, son Vincent, two brothers, Hubert Merrigan and Donald Merrigan, and four sisters, Anna Merrigan, Jeannie Merrigan, Winnie Stark and Lucia Munsch.

Survivors include her children, Marilyn (Ken) Wilmes, Kevin (Martha) Schieber, Ellen (Greg) Carter, David (Linda) Schieber, Douglas (Colleen) Schieber, Keith (Alison) Schieber and Carla (Shannon) Sadler; daughter-in-law, Jeannie Schieber; 24 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild; one brother, William Merrigan; and sisters Patricia Archer, Veronica Dorrel and Cecelia Meyer.

She was the best cookie maker, and her chocolate crinkle cookies were often requested at church events in Conception and Maryville. She enjoyed bowling and traveling with Leo. After his passing she enjoyed traveling with special friends like Dora Moutray. She was blessed to have good friends and caregivers at Oak Pointe.

Mass of Christian burial will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 18th, at St. Gregory Barbarigo Catholic Church in Maryville. Burial will follow at St. Columba Cemetery in Conception. A rosary will be held Wednesday, Jan. 17th at 6 p.m. at St. Gregory’s. The family will receive friends following the rosary until 7:30 p.m. The family suggest memorials to St. Gregory Barbarigo Catholic Church.
