Fannie “Viola” Gibson, age 93, a resident of Chillicothe, Missouri, passed away on Wednesday, April 1, 2020, at Morningside Center, Chillicothe, Missouri.

Viola was born the daughter of Fred William and Minnie Rodella (Wilson) Cobb on September 27, 1926, in Chula, Missouri. She was united in marriage to Nelson Dale Gibson on March 28, 1946, in Kansas City, Kansas. He preceded her in death on September 22, 1994.

Viola was a member of the Soul’s Harbor Church of God, Chillicothe, Missouri. She attended the Braymer Christian Church, Braymer, Missouri. Viola enjoyed fishing and mushroom hunting. She loved singing and playing guitar. Viola was the OATS Bus coordinator in Braymer, Missouri, for many years.

Survivors include three sons, Nelson Wayne Gibson, Sr. and wife Anne of Anchorage, Alaska, Donald Gibson and wife Caren of Braymer, Missouri, and Gary Gibson of Braymer, Missouri; one daughter, Marilyn Spears and husband Dennis of Chillicothe, Missouri; ten grandchildren; one step-grandchild; numerous great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Nelson; two sons, Norman and Rick Gibson; four sisters, Helen Molloy, Gracie Keith, Patricia Gardner, and Louise Howe; and one brother, Freddie Cobb.

Graveside services will be held at Plainview Cemetery, Chula, Missouri, on Friday, April 3, 2020, at 10:00 a.m. Friends may call at the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Thursday, April 2, 2020, from 12 noon until 6:00 p.m.
