Gordon B Garrett, 90, of Maryville, Missouri passed away on Friday, October 6, 2023, at Nodaway Nursing Home.

Gordon was born on September 29, 1933, in College Springs, Iowa, to Wayne and Wilda (Willsie) Garrett. He was a graduate of Horace Mann High School and attended Northwest Missouri State College. He served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. Gordon was a letter carrier for the United States Postal Service for over 30 years, a member of the First United Methodist Church, Kiwanis, the Rosanna Chapter of Eastern Star, and Masonic Lodge #470 member for over fifty years.

He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Marcia Lee Young.

He married Beverly F. Porter on January 26, 1955, in Maryville, Missouri. She survives of the home. Additional survivors include their children:  Kevin (Christi) Garrett, Atlantic, Iowa; Kyle (Debbie) Garrett, Maryville; Keenan (Julie) Garrett, Valley Center, Kansas; and Kara Puche (Mike Ceperley), Maryville. Grandchildren: Tara Shough, Jason (Juliana) Garrett, Nicole Garrett, Brett Garrett, Derek (Megan) Garrett, Angela Garrett, Loren (Christian) Nook, Mariah Garrett, and Ryan Puche.  Great-grandchildren: Regan and Aiden Shough; Tristram, Henry, and Jack Garrett; Emmie Garrett; Zoe Nook; and several nieces and nephews.

Masonic services will be held at 5:30pm Tuesday, October 10th, at the First United Methodist Church of Maryville, MO. The family will receive friends following the Masonic service from 6:00pm to 8:00pm.  Funeral will be held at 10:30am Wednesday, October 11th, at the First United Methodist Church, Maryville, under the care of Price Funeral Home. Burial at Nodaway Memorial Gardens, Maryville.  Memorials can be designated to the First United Methodist Church of Maryville or Health Emergency Lifeline Program.
