John Rex Dixon

John Rex Dixon, age 73, of Brookfield, MO; passed away peacefully on Friday, October 6, 2023, at McLarney Manor in Brookfield, MO.

John Rex, son of the late Dr. John Rex and Evelyn Mae (Garrigues) Dixon, was born on September 14, 1950 in Brookfield, MO. John graduated high school from Kemper Military School in Booneville, MO; where he received a Bachelor’s Degree in Arts. He then went on and attended Missouri Valley Collage in Marshall, MO; where he finished up his education. After college, John served our country for six years total in the United States Navy, active and in the Navel Reserves. After he was released from the service, he moved back to his home town of Brookfield. John worked and was a manager at the Brookfield Bowl Alley until he retired.

John is survived by his three children, Michael Dixon of Montgomery, AL; Amy Dixon Berry of New Boston, MO; and Bradley Dixon of Atlanta, GA; two grandchildren, one brother Doug Dixon and wife Patty of Nixa, MO; and numerous nephews and nieces.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Dr. John Rex and Evelyn Mae (Garrigues) Dixon; two sisters, Sara Jean Myers and Sandra Mae Dixon.

Memorial services will be held at 1:00 pm. Friday, October 20, 2023 at the Rhodes Funeral Home, Brookfield, MO.
