Joyce Arlene (Latham) Ross was born August 23, 1940, to John Walter Latham and Cleone Ruth (Long) Latham in Arispe, Ia. Joyce was the youngest of four from this union. In 1958, she graduated from Arispe High School.

On August 1, 1958, Joyce was married to Richard “Dick” Ross. They had one daughter, Vickie Lynne (Ross) Morin. Joyce was a stay-at-home mother and farmed alongside her husband, on their farm west of Arispe, until they retired and move to Creston in 2012. She enjoyed her daughter and later her two granddaughters, Megan Faye (Morin) Bragg and Mandi Lynne (Morin) Hedrick but found it a special treat to have her great-grandsons, Brogan Fay Morin O’Connor and Colin Joe Everett Morin Hendrick come and spend quality time.

Joyce belonged to both the Arispe United Methodist Church as well as the Shannon City Community Church. She regularly attended UMWF and the monthly birthday breakfast at the United Methodist Church in Arispe.

Joyce was preceded in death by her parents, John Walter Latham and Cleone Ruth (Long) Latham, father-in-law David LeRoy “Roy” Ross, mother-in-law Hazel Erma (Werner) Ross, sister Norma (Francis) Sweet, brothers Earl (Joyce) Latham and John (Dorie) Latham, sisters-in-law, Gertrude Erma (Norman) Jennings, Josephine (Gary) Cook, brother-in-law David LeRoy “Junior” Ross.

Left to mourn her passing are her husband “Dick” Ross of the home; daughter Vickie (Mark) Morin of Ravenwood, Mo.; granddaughters, Megan (Jed) Bragg of Elmo, Mo. and Mandi (Wilbur) Hedrick of Raytown, Mo.; great-grandsons, Brogan O’Connor and Colin Hendrick; sister-in-law Virginia Ross of Shannon City, Ia. along with nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She was appreciated by many for her cookie baking. She will be greatly missed.
