Julia Dee Lyle, of Burlington Junction, Missouri, passed away on Sunday, February 18, 2024, in Maryville, Missouri.

Julia was born to Cecil Pierson and Arcille Bloomfield in New York City, NY. Being the daughter of a Navy Chief, she moved frequently, sometimes attending 3 different schools in one year. In 1958 they retired to Quitman, Missouri.

Julia graduated from Burlington Junction High School in 1962 and on August 30, of that year she married Roy Edgar Lyle of Burlington Junction, where they made their home on the farm. Julia enjoyed gardening, mowing the lawn, sewing, reading and writing short stories. She volunteered her time with Girl Scouts, 4-H and was a member of Beta Sigma Phi for several years.

Besides being a farm wife, Julia worked varying jobs including Rod’s Hallmark in Maryville and was Nodaway County Administrator from 2000 – 2009. Julia was a devoted & loving wife, mother, daughter and friend.

She is preceded in death by her parents and brother Thomas Pierson.

Survivors include her husband Roy of 61 years, daughters Shelley (Buckles), Sandra Lyle, and Robin (Shamberger); grandchildren, Erin Mason (Ogle), Andrea Mason (Smith), Carl Mason, Blake Shamberger, Brice Shamberger, Thomas Buckles, and 7 great grandchildren.

There will be a rosary at 4:30pm followed by visitation from 5-7pm on Tuesday, February 20, 2024, at Bram Funeral Home, Maryville, Missouri.

Funeral Mass will be at 11am, on Wednesday, February 20, 2024, at St. Benedict’s Catholic Church in Burlington Junction, Missouri, the internment will follow at the Ohio Cemetery, also of Burlington Junction.

Family and friends are invited back to St. Benedict’s after the burial for dinner and fellowship.
