Kregg Lee Buntin

Stanberry, MO: Kregg Lee Buntin, 68, Stanberry, MO passed away Saturday, February 27, 2021
at a St. Joseph, MO hospital.
He was born on August 28, 1952 to Jack Loye and Dorothy Lee (Spence) Buntin in Bethany,
Missouri. He was the second of five children.
Kregg never knew a stranger. He loved all animals and they liked him in return. After he was
forced to quit mowing yards due to health reasons, he liked to sit in his recliner and watch birds
and squirrels fight over slices of bread he had thrown out in the yard. He liked being around
people and “belonging.” Highlights of his year was the Car Show and 4 th of July when he would
sit by the bathrooms and keep them clean and supplied.
Kregg had his problems at a very young age. At two years and four years old he smelled
gasoline fumes to the point of nearly passing out (the first time his dad caught him as he started
to fall off a tractor, the second time it was a lawn mower gas tank). The doctors later said this
caused damage to the right front temporal section of his brain, which controls your reasoning
powers. We found all this out when he was about 12 years old and began having epileptic
seizures. Not being able to realize what the result of his actions might cause got him into
considerable trouble. Kregg rented a house from Olin Slaughter, pastor of Faith Community
Christian Center and joined the church. Things started turning around for the better, slowly but
surely. Kregg currently belonged to the First Baptist Church of Stanberry.
He was preceded in death by his father and a sister, Debra Lou Burton and her husband,
Wesley.
Kregg is survived by his mother, Dorothy Lee Buntin; children, Brian Keith, Bethany, MO and
Barbara Jean Frogge, Kearney, MO; siblings, Bruce Allen (Linda), St. Joseph, MO, Chuck Lynn
(DeeAnn), Stanberry, MO, and Jesse Dean (Joanne) Stewartsville, MO; grandchildren, Katelynn,
Zoey, and Adyson Buntin, Cadence, Jackson, and Cason Frogge; four great grandchildren and a
host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and many friends.
Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, March 4 at the First Baptist Church,
Stanberry, MO under the direction of Roberson Funeral Home, Stanberry, MO. Burial will follow
in Miriam Cemetery, Bethany, MO. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m.
Wednesday at Roberson Funeral Home, Stanberry, MO where social distancing will be observed
