Lucille Thornton
Lucille Thornton, 90, Lansing, KS (formerly of New Hampton, MO) passed away Tuesday, January 17, 2023 at a Lansing, KS assisted living.
She was born March 17, 1932 in Custer, South Dakota the daughter of Roy Lee and Mary Etta (Redman) Morgan.
On December 9, 1972 she married Billy L. Thornton in Berthoud, Colorado. He preceded her in death on June 22, 2018.
Lucille worked as a fiscal officer at the NW Missouri Area on Aging in Albany, MO for several years. She loved to read and enjoyed working in the garden. After retirement, she loved to travel in the motorhome.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; son, Harry Thornton and step-daughter, Barbara Tyree.
Survivors include her daughter, Becky (Bart) Braa, Weston, MO; son, Roy (Susan) Loder, Tacoma, Washington; 3 step-children, Susan (Dennis) Arn, Joyce (Mike) Newman and Steve (Neva) Thornton; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren and sister, Shirley Morgan.
Lucille has been cremated under the direction of Roberson Funeral Home, Bethany, MO.
Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, January 25, at Roberson Funeral Home, Bethany, MO. A Private Family Inurnment will be in Foster Cemetery, New Hampton, MO.
