Macil Marie Kiser Laughlin

Macil Marie Kiser Laughlin, 89, Guilford, died Monday, February 5, 2024 at Maryville Living Center, Maryville.

She was born September 4, 1934 to Floyd Andrew “Guinea” and Mamie Idona Armstrong Kiser, in rural Andrew County.

She attended Harmon School from first to seventh grade, graduated eighth grade in Barnard and graduated from Horace Mann High in 1952. On April 3, 1955, she married Kenneth Thomas Laughlin at the First Christian Church in Maryville.

She and her husband actively raised Angus cattle for over 65 years and this continues with her family.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son, Dennis Eugene Laughlin, brother, Charles (Darlene) Kiser; sisters, Anna (Charles) Espey, Bettie (Byrl) Dougan, Mary (Bill) Scott, Rosalie (Ralph) Watson and Shirlie (Larry) Bunkowski.

She was also preceded in death by her father and mother-in-law, Virgil and Mabel (Donaldson) Laughlin, her husband’s siblings Pauline (Emmet) Barsballe, Berneice (Edward “Buster”) Wohlford, John (Sharlene) Laughlin, Donald E. (Frances) Laughlin, Mary Lou (Jack) Hanson, Bob (Shirley) Laughlin and Stan Laughlin.

Survivors include son, Donald Andrew Laughlin of the home, Guilford; daughter-in-law, Ellene Marie Stoecklein Laughlin, Pueblo West, CO; grandchildren, Kellan Patrick Laughlin, Pueblo West, CO, Tristan Alexander Laughlin (Jasmine Lim), Kansas City, MO, Kendyl Marie Laughlin, Jackson, WY, Gentry Elizabeth Laughlin (fiancé Jared Singer), Frisco, CO, and sister-in-law, Sharon Laughlin, Denver, CO.

The visitation will be at 5 to 7 pm, Friday February 9 at Price Funeral Home, Maryville. Services will be held at 2 pm, Saturday, February 10 at the Guilford United Methodist Church, Guilford, with burial in the Graves Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials to the Graves Cemetery, 36327 Monarch Trail, Guilford, MO 64457.
