Norma Jean Birdsong

Norma Jean (Huddleston) Birdsong, aged 73, passed away on Sunday, February 27, 2022 at Mosaic Life Care Hospital, St. Joseph. She was born on June 28, 1948 in California, Mo., the daughter of Dova Edward Huddleston and Ora Lee (Wiggers) Huddleston. She married Richard Lee Birdsong in California, Mo. on November 7, 1963 and they had five children.

Norma is survived by her husband, Rev. Richard Birdsong, her children, Edward Birdsong and his wife Anita of Richmond, Mo., Emma Lee Morrow and her husband Brian of Hartman, Ark., William Birdsong and his wife Kristi of Prairie Hill, Mo., Barbara Hatchett and her husband Mark of Lamar, Ark. and Michael Birdsong and his wife Laura of Macon, Mo., her sisters Verna (Huddleston) Morrison and Nadine (Huddleston) Borts of California, Mo. She was a beloved grandmother to 12 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren and loved by numerous nieces and nephews. Norma was preceded in death by her parents, her siblings, Clifton Huddleston, Marvin Huddleston, Bertha Huddleston, Ethel Huddleston Blunt-DeClue, Ottis Martin, Cleo Martin White and her granddaughter Maci Nicole Birdsong.

Norma had a servant’s heart and lived by Proverbs 3:5-6 “Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct thy paths.”

Visitations for Norma are scheduled for Friday, March 4 from 6:00-8:00 pm at First Assembly of God Church in Bethany, Mo. and on Saturday, March 5 from 12:00-1:00 pm at Delaney Funeral Home in Marceline, Mo. A celebration of life service will be held on Saturday, March 5 at 2:00 pm at Hebron Christian Church at the Hebron Cemetery near Kaseyville, Mo.
