Richard D. Pittsenbarger
Richard D. Pittsenbarger, age 94, passed away on January 10, 2023. He was born October 10, 1928 in Fairport, Missouri, the son of Hubert T. and Grace (Davidson) Pittsenbarger.
Dick was a Sergeant in the United States Army during the Korean War. He loved farming and after returning home from serving, he was able to continue doing that until just recently. He worked for 26 years for the Department of Agriculture in weights and measurement and retired at the age of 80.
He was a loyal friend, good neighbor, and would help anyone that needed it. He had the gift of gab and would strike up a conversation with anyone he met. When he could slip away from the farm, he enjoyed fishing and hunting. He was a member of the Maysville United Methodist Church, Shriners, Masonic Lodge and Fairport Lions Club.
He is preceded in death by his parents; two wives, Shirley Jean Pittsenbarger and Norma Jean Pittsenbarger.
He is survived by his daughters, Carol (Sid) McDonald, Paula Stahl and Janet (Gerald) Clark; 9 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and numerous cousins and friends.
Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, January 14, 2023 at Turner Family Funeral Home in Maysville, with burial immediately following at
the Fairport Cemetery with Full Military Honors.
Visitation will be 6:00 ~ 8:00 p.m. Friday, January 13, 2023 at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Shriner’s or Disabled American Veterans.
