Robert “Bob” Johnson, 83, Bethany, MO passed away Sunday, January 7, 2024, at a North Kansas City, MO hospital.

Bob was born in Hope, Indiana on February 13, 1940, to Walter and Nora (Robinette) Johnson. He graduated from Hope High School in 1958.

He furthered his education at Purdue University. Bob married his wife, Sharon, on August 24, 1969.

Bob owned and operated many businesses including a carpet store, a travel/tour company, and a yogurt shop. From 1972 to 2018 Bob’s passion was leading mission teams to Haiti.

One of his greatest accomplishments was getting the land in Haiti where Mission of Hope is today and building the church in Haiti. In 1994, Bob was given the opportunity to move to Bethany, Missouri to operate Miracle Hills Ranch. He took great pride in and enjoyed moving to the ranch.

Bob’s legacy continues through his wife, Sharon of 54 years; daughter, Tricia (Mike) Spurling, Bethany, MO; sons, Greg, Florida, Jason (Alicia), Indiana, and Brad (Vanessa), Texas; grandchildren, Peyton (Morganne) Spurling, Braden, Lauren Spurling, Mya, Maggie, Morgan, and Mason Johnson, JD, Georgie (Mado) Gonzalez, Beau (Meg), and Jaima Johnson; sister, Betty Johnson and brother, Bill (Diane) Johnson.

Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, January 13 at the First Baptist Church, Bethany, MO under the direction of Roberson Funeral Home, Bethany, MO. Burial will follow in Miriam Cemetery, Bethany, MO. The family will receive friends from 12:00-2:00 p.m. Saturday at the church.
