Ronald James

Ronald W. James, 89, of Independence, Missouri passed away peacefully on October 16, 2021, just three days before his 90th birthday. Ron was born October 19, 1931 in Carmack, Missouri, the son of Jim and Grace (Pierce) James.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, John W. James and sister-in-law, Billie James.

Ron proudly served in the United States Navy during the Korean War and returned home to work in federal government service until 1983.

Ron retired as Kansas City Area Director for the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development. For several years after that, he was a residential construction consultant.

On April 24, 2000, he and Linda Campbell were married. Linda survives of the home.

He is also survived by his son, Randy James, Gravois Mills, MO and daughter-in-law Sherri’ James, Greenwood, MO; stepdaughter, Christine Campbell, Lake Havasu, Arizona; stepson, Blane Campbell, Lee’s Summit, MO; grandchildren, Derek and Emily James; step-grandchildren, Paige Stuart, Alexis and Riley Campbell; step great-grandchildren, Jaxson Strickland and Eleanor May.

Ron was an amazing and loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. His generosity is a legacy that will live on in the hearts of his family. He will be missed terribly.

Graveside Service and Burial with Military Rites:  1:00 PM Thursday, October 21 at the Carmack Cemetery, Albany. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Disabled American Veterans (DAV) in care of the Roberson-Polley Chapel, 403 N. Hundley, Albany, MO  64402.
