Terry Gene Puls

Terry Gene Puls, 53, Bethany, MO passed away Thursday, August 5, 2021 at a Bethany, MO hospital.

He was born on July 2, 1968 in Bethany, Missouri the son of Linda Tilley and Sunny Puls.

As a child, Terry resided with his mother and beloved sister, Tammy Carlson in Bethany and Albany. They were later joined by a sister, Rhonda Lewis. When Terry was 10 he was diagnosed with juvenile diabetes so he has lived a very sick life. Unable to work most of his younger years, he helped his sister take care of his nieces and nephew.

In January 1995, his lifelong dream came true: a family of his own. Terry was united in marriage with Misty Rucker Puls on July 8, 1995 and he gained three children, whom were the light of his life.

He was able to begin working when his health improved for a few years. He began working for the Department of Corrections in Maryville and then took a sergeant position at Western Missouri Correctional Center, a job he was very passionate about. He worked for the Department of Corrections until his health took a turn for the worst and he was forced into early retirement.

Terry was a family man. He loved his wife, sisters, kids, and nieces and nephews with his whole heart but that love did not compare to the love he had for his grandkids. They put a different sparkle in his eye.

He was preceded in death by his mother; maternal grandparents, Bert and Avnes Tilley; paternal grandparents, Gerald and Dorothy Puls and his uncles, Jim and Bill Tilley.

Terry is survived by his wife, Misty Puls, Pattonsburg, MO; children, Brittany (Josh) Curtis, Gilman City, MO, Damien (Heather) Puls, and Dakota (Amber) Puls both of Pattonsburg, MO; sisters, Tammy (Kenny) Carlson, McFall, MO; Rhonda (Roger) Lewis, Bethany, MO; brother, Matthew Puls, Blue Springs, MO; father, Sunny Puls, Independence, MO; his grandchildren, the 10 lights of his life and his nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, August 10 at Roberson Funeral Home, Bethany, MO. Burial will follow in Miriam Cemetery, Bethany, MO. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
