Vincent Sullivan

Vincent Richard Sullivan, 78, of Conception, MO passed away peacefully on December 25, 2022, with his loving wife of 56 years and children by his side at the University of Kansas Medical Center in Kansas City, KS.

Vincent was born January 9, 1944, in Maryville, MO, to Alfred E. Sullivan and Ruth C. (Wonderly) Sullivan, they preceded him in death. Also preceding him in death were four brothers: TJ, Cletus, Jerry, and Bob Sullivan, and one sister Kathleen Merrigan.

Vincent graduated from Jefferson High School, Conception Junction, MO and lived his entire life in the Nodaway County area.  He served his country in the Missouri National Guard and  was a member of American Legion Post 464 of Conception Junction, MO. He was a member of St. Columba Catholic Church and served in the Knights of Columbus Council 1931.

On September 3, 1966, at St. Columba Parrish he married his true love, Mary Kay Protzman.

He spent his entire 54-year career in the printing industry at Conception Abbey Printery, Meade Corporation, Oxley Printing and NPG Printing.

He enjoyed working in the garden, raising cattle, hunting, traveling, and watching his grandchildren participate in their various activities.

His survivors include his wife Mary Kay of the home, two daughters Amy (Rob) Luke and their children Kevin and Krista of Stanberry, Mo, Kara (Kyle) Schneweis and their children Kate, Cody, Ethan, and Eva of Liberty, MO, four sons; Alan (Angie) Sullivan and child Audrey of New Bloomfield, MO, Brian (Cindy) Sullivan and their children Miranda, Lauren, Jordan, Eli, Emily, and Makaili of Cumming, IA, Brad (Ree) Sullivan and their children Chad and Collin of Maryville, MO and Chris (Lacey) Sullivan and their children Casen, Brody, and Ayden of Darlington, MO.  Remaining surviving siblings include one brother Donald Sullivan of Conception, MO, two sisters Helen Mattson of Conception Junction, MO and Marge Wolfer of Kansas City, MO, three sisters-in-law Mary Sullivan, Ruth Sullivan, and Margie Zimmerman, one brother-in-law Terry Merrigan as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

A parish rosary will be held Thursday, December 29, 2022, at St. Columba Church. The Rosary will begin at 5:30 PM with visitation to follow from 6-8:00 PM.

Mass of Christian burial will take place on Friday, December 30, 2022, at 10:30 AM, at St. Columba Catholic Church, Conception Junction, MO. Burial with military honors will follow at St. Columba Cemetery.

Memorials may be directed in Vincent’s honor to Conception Abbey; Benedictine Sisters of Perpetual Adoration of Clyde, MO; or St. Columba Catholic Church, Conception Junction, MO.
