Meet Balto! Our Pet of the Week

We’d like to introduce you to Balto! Balto is a handsome husky who was found as a stray and brought to the shelter. When poor Balto first arrived he had a horrible skin infection, which must have been very painful for him. It took him a little time, but with medical treatment and lots of love Balto is finally feeling better and his gorgeous Husky coat is slowly going back.
Balto is a gentle, friendly boy whose blue eyes are absolutely gorgeous. He is very sweet and loving and genuinely enjoys being with people. Balto is a bit quieter than other Huskies who have been with us at the shelter, but he still has the husky gift of communicating and is happy to let you know when he wants your attention. He has been through a lot in his life, but through it all he has retained his sweet, loyal spirit and a heart full of love.
If Balto could tell us about his perfect Forever Home, he would describe a home where he could be an indoor dog and spend as much time as possible with his family. He would enjoy a securely fenced yard (remember, the “H” in “Husky” also stands for “Houdini”!) where he could safely enjoy some outdoor time and then come back inside to spend those cold upcoming winter evenings curled up at the feet of his family. Balto gets along well with the other dogs at the shelter so he would be happy to have a canine sibling or two, but we do recommend, as always, that he get to meet any other dogs in the household prior to adoption to ensure that they will be the best of friends.
Balto will go to his Forever Home neutered, de-wormed, heartworm tested and up to date on all vaccinations including rabies. He has had a hard go of life so far; could you be the person to fill the rest of his life with love and the happiness that he so deserves?
