Meet Tom! Our Pet of the Week!

We’d like to introduce you to Tom! Tom is a handsome, older kitty who came to Green Hills Animal Shelter in August 2020 after being rescued from a life on the streets. When you meet Tom, the first thing you’ll notice is his expressive face and his gorgeous cream-point coloring, but there’s more to Tom than just his good looks; Tom’s personality is that of a true gentleman.

Tom had a hard life on the streets, as evidenced by the scars on his body, but he doesn’t let that affect him one bit.  Tom has embraced life as an indoor kitty at the shelter and has won the hearts of the shelter staff and volunteers with his charming ways.  Tom is a very sweet boy who loves everyone he meets. He enjoys attention, is always ready to be petted and, despite being a bit older, Tom still loves to play.

Tom gets along well with children, dogs and other cats. He is FIV positive, which means that he will need to be adopted to an indoor-only home, but since FIV is spread primarily through deep bite wounds, Tom can still live happily and safely with other kitties as long as they all get along well.

If Tom could describe his perfect Forever Home, he would request an indoor only home where he could loll in sunbeams and watch the birdies through the windows.  He would be very happy to share his home with children, dogs or other cats, but he would also be equally happy to reside in a single-cat household where he could be a lap kitty and the center of his family’s attention.

Tom will go to his Forever Home neutered, de-wormed, FIV/FeLV tested (FIV+), and up to date on all his vaccinations, including rabies.  He is an old soul who is sure to win your heart; could you make his wish of a Forever Home come true?
