Pet Of The Week – Babe
All pets are special, but sometimes there is one who just melts your heart and Babe is one of those pets! Babe is a 3 to 4-year-old American Bully mix who has stolen the hearts of everyone at Green Hills Animal Shelter. Because of Babe’s compact build and short legs (Babe is about as wide as she is tall!), we believe Babe to be a pocket or mini-pit. And, as if the cuteness of her size isn’t adorable enough, Babe also has the most beautiful blue eyes!
We don’t know anything about Babe’s life before being rescued off the street by animal control and brought to the shelter, but we know it must have been hard. You see, Babe arrived at the shelter very thin and with a limp. Thinking she had likely been hit by a car, shelter staff promptly took Babe to the vet, where it was discovered that her limp was due to a broken pelvis and femur. However, that injury was 6-8 weeks old and had almost healed, leaving Babe with her signature limp. Can you imagine this poor girl struggling to survive on the streets with a broken pelvis and femur? But despite her previous injuries and struggles, Babe quickly showed us that she has the heart of a champion and wants nothing more than to be loved.
Babe is an amazingly sweet dog who is friendly, gentle, and affectionate. She loves everyone she meets; no one is ever a stranger to this sweetie! Babe lives to be loved and cuddling on the couch is her favorite activity! She is astute, rarely barks, and is very well-behaved, even in her kennel.
If Babe could describe her perfect Forever Home she would ask for an indoor home with a family who would indulge her love of cuddling on the couch and make up for all the love she has missed. She would enjoy having a securely fenced yard to play in with her family, a comfy bed of her own, and lots of attention. Babe would be open to having a canine friend in her home, but would respectfully request a meet and greet before adoption as she has found that she likes some dogs better than others.
Babe will go to her Forever Home spayed, dewormed, heartworm tested, and up to date on all vaccinations including rabies. She is a special pup who will fill her family’s life with love; could that family be yours?
