Pet Of The Week – Basil
If you are looking for a bundle of puppy love to make you smile, then you must meet Basil and the “Spice Babies”! Basil and his siblings — Rosemary, Sage, and Nutmeg — were only about 8 weeks old when they found themselves abandoned. Fortunately, they were rescued, and they arrived at Green Hills Animal Shelter on December 30, 2022; just in time to start the New Year in a safe, loving environment. When the Spice Babies first arrived at the shelter they were cold, skinny, and full of worms, but those days are now behind them and these roly-poly, healthy pups are ready to share their joy for life in Forever Homes of their own.
Darling Basil has the distinction of being the only male in the Spice Babies Litter. We’re not 100% sure of Basil and his siblings’ exact breed, but our best guess is that they are a mix of Shepherd and Mastiff, which means that even though Basil is just a little guy now, he is going to be a big boy when he grows up!
Basil is an affectionate pup who loves cuddles; the more cuddles the better! He is super sweet and gentle and loves attention and being with people. Basil is also very playful and enjoys romping and playing with his siblings, as well as playing with his chew toys. He gets along well with his siblings and even happily shares his food. His little guy is just sweet and adorable in every possible way!
If Basil could describe his perfect Forever Home, he would ask for an indoor home with a family who will give him lots of cuddles and who understands that he is going to grow into a huge lap dog. He would love to have lots of playtime with his family, and lots of chew toys of his very own. Basil gets along well with other dogs and would be very happy to have a canine companion in his Forever Home. His sweet nature would also make him a great family pet in a home with children.
Basil will go to his Forever Home wormed and be up to date on all age-appropriate vaccinations. He is scheduled to be neutered on March 29, 2023, but his approved adopter will be able to take him home and bring him back in for his neuter so that he can start bonding with his new family as soon as possible.
