Pet Of The Week – Boomer

If you are looking for a loyal friend who will happily explore the outdoors with you, you need to look no further than Boomer!  Boomer is an approximately 5-year-old German Shorthaired Pointer whose two very favorite things in life are people and the outdoors.  Boomer came to Green Hills Animal Shelter in July 2023 after being found and rescued by Animal Control. But sadly, and much to our surprise, no one came to claim Boomer, so now he is looking for a new home where he will be loved forever.

Boomer is a friendly dog who is extremely sweet and loves being with people. He is very gentle and would be a fantastic dog for a family with children. He loves being close to his people and very much wants to be a lap dog, but he is also very respectful of our space when we ask him to get down. The kennel environment is hard for Boomer because the strange smells and noises make him nervous, but when he goes outside all his stress melts away as he happily runs in the shelter play yard, especially when there are mud puddles to splash through!

If Boomer could describe his perfect Forever Home, he would ask for a family who would spend lots of time with him. He would love to help you get moving by going on long walks and exploring with his family, and then help you relax by curling up with you on the couch. Boomer gets along well with other dogs and would be happy to have a canine sibling in his new home. Of course, Boomer would also very much enjoy having a large, securely fenced yard to run and play in … and perhaps the occasional mud puddle for happy splashing!

Boomer will go to his Forever Home neutered, dewormed, heartworm tested, and up to date on all vaccinations including rabies. He is a sweetheart who just wants to share his love with a family of his own; could that family be yours?
