Pet Of The Week – Buddy

We’d like to introduce you to Buddy! Buddy is a pure-bred 4-year-old Red-nosed American Pit Bull Terrier whose endearing personality is even more appealing than his gorgeous chestnut and white fur.

Buddy was very fortunate to have found refuge at Green Hills Animal Shelter. Not only was Buddy attacked by another dog in his former life, but his previous owner decided he no longer wanted him and put Buddy in the back of his truck for a ride that was meant to be his final one. Fortunately, Buddy escaped his fate and eventually found his way to the shelter. When he arrived he had road rash and a sore paw, but from the moment he entered the shelter he was sweet and kind, and clearly thankful to be safe, warm, fed, and loved.

Buddy has now fully recovered from his ordeal, and this big boy is just as sweet and happy as he can be! He loves everyone he meets and is amazing with both adults and children. He is friendly, affectionate and loyal; everything we love about our canine companions! He is very playful and loves to play fetch (tennis balls are his favorite obsession!), and he is also a cuddle bug who loves snuggle time with his people. Buddy loves going for walks and is a gentleman on his leash, walking along nicely with anyone willing to take him on an adventure in the great outdoors. Buddy’s loving personality would make him a great companion for a family with older children.

If Buddy could describe his perfect Forever Home he would ask for an indoor home with a family who would provide equal play and snuggle time. (This smart boy is already potty-trained, although like all shelter pups, he may need a little refresher when he first arrives in his new home.) He would very much enjoy having a securely fenced yard where he could play a good game of fetch, and we suspect that this boy, who is big on the outside and soft and squishy on the inside, would love to have his own fluffy bed to snuggle in and, of course, he would love to have lots of tennis balls of his very own. Because of his past experience, Buddy would do best in a home with no other pets, and we do recommend that any children in the home be older, but only so that he doesn’t accidentally bowl them over with his extra-large-lap-dog snuggles.

Buddy will go to his Forever Home neutered, dewormed, heartworm tested, and up to date on all vaccinations including rabies. He is a fantastic boy who is certain to fill his family’s life with unconditional love; could that family be yours?
