Pet Of The Week – Chance

It has been said that dogs are like rainbows; puppies are the joy at one end and old dogs are the treasure at the other. Today we’d like to introduce you to a gem. Chance is a terrier mix who our vet estimates to be about 8 years old, but although his muzzle may be sporting a little gray, his heart is pure gold!

Chance had a rough start on his road to Green Hills Animal Shelter. You see, this precious boy was abandoned at a state park and left to navigate life on his own. When he was rescued he was thin and hungry and suffering from skin issues, but with lots of love, good food, and vet care, Chance has recovered and this amazing pup is now ready to share his heart with a Forever Family of his very own.

Chance is a very friendly boy who is extremely sweet and loving. Despite being abandoned, he loves being with people, and cuddling is one of his very favorite activities. And don’t let his age fool you; Chance may have a few years under his belt, but he still acts like a young pup! He very much enjoys going on long, leashed walks and still gets quite excited when he sees a rabbit or squirrel. He is a quick learner and has already mastered “sit” and “shake” so that he can greet you properly. He loves spending couch time snuggled up with his people, and this smart boy even knows when it’s time to get ready for bed in his foster home.

If Chance could describe the Forever Home he dreams of, he would ask us for an indoor home (this sweet boy is already house-trained!) with a family who would treasure him and give him lots of love. He would love to go on leashed walks with his family and cuddle with them on the couch in the evenings. Chance’s sweet personality would fit well in a home with children. He would also enjoy sharing his Forever Home with a canine friend, but he does respectfully request that there not be any cats in his new home.

Chance will go to his Forever Home neutered, dewormed, heartworm tested, and up to date on all vaccinations including rabies. He will also arrive absolutely full of love and gratitude for his Forever Family; could that lucky family be yours?
