Pet of the Week – Donnie

Those who love deeply never grow old…..  And this week’s Farm n Friend Pet of the Week has lots of love to give.  Donnie (52lbs) 433699 is a Shepherd mix senior dog (9 years old) that came to the shelter with some medical issues. He had a bad skin infection and needed some extra love and care so he went into the Puppies for Parole program where he is getting the attention he needs and also learning his basic commands and obedience. Donnie a sweet old man, but a little set in his ways. He gets along with some dogs but does not enjoy playing too much these days. He does like to take walks though. Donnie would love a quiet home with a comfy couch to spend the rest of his days. Donnie is a Silver Paws dog, meaning his adoption fees are reduced because of his age. Please fill out an online application and call our volunteer Kathy at 816-271-4877 to set up a meet and greet with this sweet old man.  Or, see other pets up for adoption go to petforu.com.  For more information, call the St. Joseph Animal Shelter at 816-271-4877.

Once again, we would like to thank our sponsor, Farm n Friend Veterinary Services for all they do to keep this program up and running. Farm n Friend has three locations to better serve you and your pets: Cameron, Gallatin, and Hamilton.

Adopting a mature dog can be a good choice as they have gotten past the rambunctious “puppy stage”.

November is Adopt a Senior Dog Month.
