Pet Of The Week – Gemma

Please meet Gemma!  Gemma is a beautiful, young house panther who, at around 1 year old, is just at the outer edges of kitten hood.  Before coming to Green Hills Animal Shelter, Gemma was a stray kitten navigating life on the streets, and from the way she settled right in at GHAS it was obvious that this sweet girl was very happy to be found and brought inside where she had shelter, food, water, and, most of all, people to love her.

Gemma is a petite kitty who is quite the social butterfly. She has the happy, playful personality of a kitten and is always ready for a play session. But where Gemma’s personality really shines is in the cuddle department.  You see, sweet Gemma LOVES people and being petted and held.  Shelter staff and volunteers often carry her around like a baby, and Gemma happily snuggles in for the ride; tummy up, nestled in their arms, occasionally reaching up with her paw to gently touch the face of the person carrying her. And did we mention her purr? Gemma’s purr is so sweet and strong that it is like therapy – calming your spirit and making your heart smile.

If Gemma could describe her purr-fect Forever Home she would ask for an indoor only home where she would receive lots of love, cuddles and attention. She would be purr-fectly happy in a home with children, and would be a sweet kitty for a little girl who wants a cuddly friend to carry around. She loves her hammock at the shelter, and would love to have a hammock or snuggly bed of her own in her new home.

Gemma will go to her Forever Home spayed, de-wormed, FIV/FeLV tested, and up to date on all vaccinations, including rabies.  She is the sweetest kitty you could ever hope to meet; could she share her cuddles and purrs with you?
