We’d like to introduce you to two very special girls: Lexi and Suzi Q. Lexi and Suzi are a bonded pair of Siberian Huskies who hold a special place in the hearts of everyone at Green Hills Animal Shelter.
You see, several years ago Green Hills Animal Shelter received a request for help from an elderly couple who were no longer able to care for the Siberian Huskies that they had bred and shown for many years. They loved their dogs dearly, but were now struggling to care for them and wanted to do what was best for them. Over the course of several months, GHAS took in 22 Huskies from the couple and placed them in wonderful homes. Only two special girls, Lexi and Suzi Q, remained in their home as cherished pets.
Sadly, life changed again recently, and in September Green Hills Animal Shelter was asked to take Lexi and Suzi Q into our care and help them find a new Forever Home.
Lexi is a senior lady who is 9 years old, while Suzi Q is bit younger at 5 – 7. These gorgeous girls are completely bonded and rely on each other. Suzi Q is a bit shy, while Lexi enjoys attention. On the flip side, Lexi is a very calm girl, while Suzi Q still possesses the fun and rambunctiousness of a pup. Lexi and Suzi Q love playing together. Like all Huskies, they are very talkative and at night they often join in beautiful chorus to fill the shelter with the song of their ancestors.
If Lexi and Suzi Q could describe their perfect Forever Home, they would, first and foremost, say that they require a home where they can remain together. They would love to be indoor dogs with access to a fenced yard where they can run and play together. They would be happy to be in a home with older children, and they wouldn’t mind having a dog or kitty sibling to share their home with. Lexi is in need of some dental work, so they would also like a home where her dental needs could be met.
Lexi and Suzi Q will go to their Forever Home spayed, de-wormed, heartworm tested and up to date on all vaccinations, including rabies. They are very special pair who is looking for a very special home; could that home be yours?
